Make your child a world citizen; rigorous, multicultural and bilingual 5 campus program of the Lycée International de Los Angeles (LILA) prepares students to pursue graduate studies in universities around the world. From pre-school to 12th grade, LILA integrates the French educational system and the American educational philosophy and develops the individuality of each student in an intimate and pleasant environment.
The spirit of Lycée International de Los Angeles
LILA has 93 teachers who are assisted by 15 assistants, and take care of 950 students of about 50 different nationalities. Students evolve in small and lightly filled multi-cultural classes which facilitate the exchange of ideas and coaching. The mixture of cultures and backgrounds is beneficial for each student and allows exchange of knowledge.
French is the mother tongue of all the teachers and they have teaching credentials from the National Education System.
The bilingual program
LILA students learn to read, write and speak in French and English, and the bilingual program seeks to integrate every child. All students live together, in a respectable environment, open to everyone. This real cultural mix shapes a certain open-mindedness and a solid cultural base. More than just knowledge and learning, LILA pushes them to develop their own opinions and to express them freely.
The 5 LILA Campuses
1. Los Feliz
The Los Feliz campus is home to a site classified as a historical-cultural monument and extends over 6 acres (2.5 hectares) of green. The campus has large buildings with modular classrooms added as required and several play areas across the field all of which fenced.
Near CalTech and Pasadena City College, Pasadena campus caters for children from kindergarten to fifth grade. Children can then continue their schooling at the main campus of Los Feliz; a shuttle makes daily trips between these 2 campuses.
3. Orange County
The Orange County campus remains renowned for effectively preparing its students for integrating to serious private schools and “prep schools” later. From kindergarten to the 6th, more than 180 students evolve in this very well located school.
4. West Valley
In the San Fernando Valley, this campus hosts students from kindergarten to fifth grade in a pleasant and yet rigorous environment. Students can then continue their schooling on the Burbank campus and enjoy the daily shuttle that connects these 2 campuses.
The campus will welcome its first students in September 2013.
