Il accueille plus de 3 \u00e0 4 millions de touristes chaque ann\u00e9e, car il est fameux pour son activit\u00e9 g\u00e9othermale. Il est tr\u00e8s connu pour ses s\u00e9quoias g\u00e9ants, ces arbres remarquables par leur taille et qui poussent en altitude \u00e9lev\u00e9e (2000 m\u00e8tres en moyenne). Le plus vieux, nomm\u00e9 Washington, est \u00e2g\u00e9 de plus de 2900 ans. Il est compos\u00e9 de 40 couches qui t\u00e9moignent de l\u2019histoire du canyon depuis pr\u00e8s de 2 milliards d\u2019ann\u00e9es. C\u2019est une plateforme de verre suspendue \u00e0 1300 m\u00e8tres au-dessus du vide, sur laquelle on peut marcher en regardant le canyon \u00e0 ses pieds.
