CarMax also stands out for its instant car-buying service: the customer receives their money immediately and the transaction is extremely simple, even if the price offered is usually more advantageous for the company than for the seller.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1629\" data-end=\"2356\">Alongside it, <strong data-start=\"1643\" data-end=\"1654\">Carvana<\/strong> has positioned itself as an innovative player that has elevated the user experience to a rarely seen level. The company has simplified the buying and selling process, particularly for individuals looking to sell their car, avoiding the often long and exhausting negotiations at traditional dealerships. Everything happens online: you can buy or sell from your computer or phone, with clear guarantees. The car is then delivered directly to your home, and the buyer can even test it after delivery. This 100% digital model, which combines simplicity and transparency, appeals to more and more consumers, even though it remains limited by the lack of physical contact with the vehicle before purchase.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2358\" data-end=\"2597\">At the same time, a significant part of the market is still driven by brand dealerships such as Ford, Toyota, or Chevrolet, not to mention the strong presence of <strong data-start=\"2520\" data-end=\"2543\">independent dealers<\/strong>, who represent a major share of local transactions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2604\" data-end=\"2654\"><strong data-start=\"2604\" data-end=\"2652\">What are their advantages and disadvantages?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2656\" data-end=\"3893\">\n<li data-start=\"2656\" data-end=\"2946\">\n<p data-start=\"2658\" data-end=\"2946\"><strong data-start=\"2658\" data-end=\"2668\">CarMax<\/strong><br data-start=\"2668\" data-end=\"2671\" \/>CarMax offers a reassuring buying experience, with displayed, non-negotiable prices and clear warranties. On the flip side, the lack of direct contact and test-driving before delivery can deter more traditional buyers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3499\" data-end=\"3696\">\n<p data-start=\"3501\" data-end=\"3696\"><strong data-start=\"3501\" data-end=\"3522\">Brand dealerships<\/strong><br data-start=\"3522\" data-end=\"3525\" \/>Brand dealerships (Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet, etc.) reassure customers with certified vehicle programs and official after-sales service, but their prices are often higher.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3698\" data-end=\"3893\">\n<p data-start=\"3700\" data-end=\"3893\"><strong data-start=\"3700\" data-end=\"3727\">Independent dealerships<\/strong><br data-start=\"3727\" data-end=\"3730\" \/>Independent dealers usually offer more flexibility on prices and conditions, but vehicle quality and professionalism can vary greatly from one dealer to another.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3900\" data-end=\"4400\"><strong data-start=\"3900\" data-end=\"3946\">Who are the smaller players in the market?<\/strong><br data-start=\"3946\" data-end=\"3949\" \/>Beyond the major groups, Florida is home to a multitude of small local players. They attract customers through proximity, price flexibility, and tailored solutions such as financing or trade-ins. To boost visibility, many now use online platforms like <strong data-start=\"4295\" data-end=\"4320\">CarGurus, AutoTrader,<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"4324\" data-end=\"4348\">Facebook Marketplace<\/strong>, which play a key role in connecting with buyers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4402\" data-end=\"4702\"><strong data-start=\"4402\" data-end=\"4435\">Advantages and disadvantages?<\/strong><br data-start=\"4435\" data-end=\"4438\" \/>Their advantage is flexibility and direct customer contact, often with more attractive prices. In the end, you can waste time and pay more than at a dealership, while getting lower quality. That\u2019s why I strongly advise private buyers against it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5137\" data-end=\"5485\"><strong data-start=\"5137\" data-end=\"5190\">What about buying directly from a private seller?<\/strong><br data-start=\"5190\" data-end=\"5193\" \/>Buying from a private seller is not a good idea. There are no guarantees or real transparency, and the risks are too high. It\u2019s a bit like buying a plane ticket without insurance: it may work out, but if there\u2019s a problem, it\u2019s very costly. You also need to be wary of cars that have been in a major accident or flooded (especially in Florida)\u2014this happens often after hurricanes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5865\" data-end=\"5993\">Another common mistake is buying without an independent mechanical inspection: a car may look perfect but hide costly repairs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5995\" data-end=\"6206\">Finally, many buyers fall into the trap of \u201chidden fees\u201d added at the last moment at some dealerships (warranties, admin fees, financing).
