Le plus grand <strong>promoteur immobilier<\/strong> de Floride de l\u2019\u00e9poque voulait en effet y loger les centaines d\u2019ouvriers qui participaient \u00e0 la construction de b\u00e2tisses et d\u2019h\u00f4tels luxueux situ\u00e9s sur l\u2019ile voisine\u00a0: <strong>Palm Beach<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>West Palm Beach<\/strong> avait bien mauvaise r\u00e9putation et constituait au d\u00e9but du 20\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, le repaire des habitu\u00e9s de maisons closes et de comptoirs de saloons. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019en 1980, que West Palm Beach a entrepris une politique de d\u00e9veloppement urbain qui a fortement att\u00e9nu\u00e9 les disparit\u00e9s de vie avec sa voisine Palm Beach.<\/p>\n<h3>Norton Art Museum<\/h3>\n<p>Un vrai bijou (un de plus) de la ville de West Palm Beach. Plus de 8 000 \u0153uvres d\u2019art am\u00e9ricaines, notamment des ann\u00e9es 1850, mais aussi europ\u00e9ennes et chinoise sont rassembl\u00e9es dans le mus\u00e9e. Ainsi, on trouve Banyan Street avant <strong>Clematis Street<\/strong>, mais apr\u00e8s Althea Street\u2026Ainsi l\u2019avait voulu Henry Flagler. Clematis Street est une rue phare de la ville avec sa multitude de boutiques, de caf\u00e9s, de galeries d\u2019art et elle est anim\u00e9e r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement de spectacles en soir\u00e9e (non, il n\u2019y a pas que des couches-t\u00f4t a WPB).
