Eh bien, ce n\u2019est pas si \u00e9vident que \u00e7a.<\/p>\n<h2>La d\u00e9couverte des supermarch\u00e9s am\u00e9ricains<\/h2>\n<p>Dans les <strong>magasins<\/strong>, on trouve par exemple des kilom\u00e8tres (j\u2019h\u00e9site encore \u00e0 compter en miles, il va pourtant falloir s\u2019y r\u00e9soudre) de rideaux de douche. Les m\u0153urs locales semblent en imposer deux superpos\u00e9s, un moche en plastique pour prot\u00e9ger, un joli (ou pas) en tissu pour faire cosy. On y trouve aussi facilement des cintres sp\u00e9ciaux pour suspendre ais\u00e9ment ses 25 casquettes dans l\u2019armoire, ou encore des protections isothermes con\u00e7ues uniquement pour les verres \u00e0 pieds.<\/p>\n<p>Mais r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer une basique machine \u00e0 Expresso, celle qui va bien pour mes petites dosettes ch\u00e9ries, ou une centrale \u00e0 vapeur, ou un tout b\u00eate \u00e9tendoir \u00e0 linge, l\u00e0 c\u2019est un vrai parcours du combattant\u2026Mais comme chacun sait, je suis tenace\u2026 Ah ah!<\/p>\n<p>C\u00f4t\u00e9 \u00e9picerie, \u201coh my God\u201d je suis perdue! Les portions alimentaires sont \u00e0 proprement parler hallucinantes, chacune nourrirait \u00e0 elle seule une famille nombreuse ou recompos\u00e9e toute enti\u00e8re\u2026Comment diable font donc les c\u00e9libataires am\u00e9ricains?<\/p>\n<p>Dans les <strong>boutiques<\/strong>, tout ce qui est chic et cher est <strong>\u201corganic\u201d (Bio)<\/strong>. Tout, m\u00eame les taies d\u2019oreillers! Pour autant, <strong>le d\u00e9veloppement durable<\/strong> n\u2019est vraiment pas dans les m\u0153urs : Lors des passages en caisses, face aux monceaux de sacs plastiques, je fais carr\u00e9ment figure d\u2019extraterrestre avec mes mignons petits cabas en tissu recyclables, pourtant usuels \u00e0 Paris.<\/p>\n<h2>Les condos am\u00e9ricains<\/h2>\n<p>Ah, d\u2019ailleurs, en parlant d\u2019extraterrestre, on a d\u00e9couvert l\u2019air tr\u00e8s bizarre des aspirateurs am\u00e9ricains et la fonction broyeur dans l\u2019\u00e9vier. (On a une gigantesque poubelle, que doit on broyer?). Notre <strong>r\u00e9sidence<\/strong> est vraiment tr\u00e8s luxueuse, avec des prestations d\u2019h\u00f4tel 5 \u00e9toiles , c\u2019est un \u201c<em>High Rise Condo with all amenities<\/em>\u201d comme on dit ici : Les services proposent m\u00eame des extensions de cils\u2026On se rassure je ne vais pas essayer, mais visiblement la concierge l\u2019a fait.<\/p>\n<p>Et si on saute de notre balcon (Euh, non finalement) on atterrit sur le golf. G\u00e9n\u00e9ralement, la vue panoramique est sublime\u2026Malheureusement ce matin, on est dans un brouillard \u00e0 couper au couteau. Et pour l\u2019instant il me manque encore quelques voisines sympas. Apr\u00e8s un d\u00e9but de socialisation r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 la salle de gym, j\u2019attends impatiemment ma machine \u00e0 expresso pour papoter plus agr\u00e9ablement qu\u2019autour d\u2019un caf\u00e9 Starbucks en lessiveuse pourtant g\u00e9n\u00e9reusement offert par la r\u00e9sidence.<\/p>\n<p>Le concierge semble en tous cas tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9venant, le portier et les employ\u00e9s des grandes surfaces aussi: On vous demande tellement, mais\u2026tellement \u201cHow are you Maaaamm?\u201d et si vous avez besoin de quelque chose, qu\u2019hier j\u2019ai fini par me demander si je n\u2019avais pas un peu l\u2019air malade, mais c\u2019est para\u00eet il juste la politesse ici.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hier, j\u2019ai enfin os\u00e9 prendre le p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique jusqu\u2019au supermarch\u00e9 pour commencer les premiers achats de survie et d\u00e9nicher les choses basiques qui manquent dans notre pourtant tr\u00e8s chic appartement meubl\u00e9.
