Lane Barden: Charlotte-Swannanoa, from the series Gradient Drift.
These images are from the series Gradient Drift, a project inspired by the chemistry of the darkroom, to create a digital process that yields unexpected, unpredictable results. The idea was to create a parallel set of conditions to making photograms or toning experiments where you are never sure what will happen. They are entirely computer generated with trial and error, and random blending algorithms. Each of them is named after a town in North Carolina where the artist grew up.
Each print, featuring dual images, is signed and numbered.
