Halloween at a price

Many chic and trendy parties are organized for Halloween in various clubs in the city. Selection for an unforgettable moment … between consenting adults.

@ Capitale: A Masked Ball

The 13th Masquerade Ball at Capitale is scheduled for Halloween 2014. Lose yourself in decadent debauchery and naughty escapades. Although the name does not indicate it, the goal is not to remain hidden throughout the evening but to assume some diabolical mischief and mayhem.

Capitale regularly serves the who’s who clientele of New Yorkers, and even celebrities. Previous years have witnessed participants in the Halloween party swaying rhythmically alongside Jay-Z, Heidi Klum and Petra Nemcova.

Scary Halloween

Away from the glitz and stilettos, Halloween also finds its celebrations in terrifying attractions and haunted houses. The goal: a night of horrors, nightmares for a year…Some places really appalling:

Blackout Haunted House – You signed, you will tremble …

This haunted house has its own anxiety rules, including one that sets the tone: your signature on a document that certifies that you understand what will happen there. Each participant has a protective mask (why exactly?). And you walk ALONE through the house. You must follow the footprint. No reassuring grip of a friend or love whose arm you can grip or throw a clammy hand over; it’s just you and only you.
Sadism and fear find abode here, Blackout is a real traumatic experience and mental torture. No speaking only yelling the word “SAFETY” if everything is too much for you.

This year, the most terrifying urban legends have the place of honour : travel through history  et discover the alligators in the subway, the gargoyles or the super rats created by Hurricane Sandy. A horrible trip which reminds you your worst nightmares can wait at the corner.

Blood Manor: Don’t turn around…at any cost

One of the most famous haunted houses in New York, as proven by the queue at the entrance. Inside, the rooms offer a different fear threshold. Sticking to the essence of the house of horror, hot breaths of air and sighs continue to haunt groups who enter it as participants exchange a few trinkets with cries. We suggest you invest in a RIP (VIP) ticket, to avoid spending half the night in the street.

Parade it like it’s Halloween

Get ready for the 41th edition of the New Yorker Halloween Parade. Canceled in 2012 due to Hurricane Sandy, the 2014 edition is set to pay tribute to the heroes – the real ones – that helped put the city back in order. If you want to be a part of the procession, costumes are required. It is the largest public demonstration in the United States for Halloween. This makes it to the list of 100 things to do before you die…

Halloween Angels flying around

There are many places in New York for young people on Halloween; away from the hustle-bustle of clubs and gore atmosphere of haunted houses. Small parades, pumpkin carving, “trick-or-treat” and others throughout the Big Apple .
