Daily Bûl magazine 10 – first edition (1964)

The Daily Bûl is “a thought, a review and a publishing house” created by André Balthazar and Pol Bury in La Louvière (Belgium) in 1957 in the wake of the CoBrA movement and Belgian surrealism. The avant-garde small magazine, marking their refusal of official culture, was published from 1957 to 1983 in 14 numbers, with texts or illustrations by artists and poets such as Pol Bury, Christian Dotremont, Pierre Alechinsky, Achille Chavée, Michel Folon, Roland Topor, Marcel and Gabriel Piqueray and more. It included poetry, surrealist texts, witty announcements and sometimes comic strips or illustrations. It has preserved over the years an amused and often serious counter-power in the Belgian literature and arts.
In 1957, it expanded to become a publishing house. This special Belgium issue #10 includes accordion-fold pages and a special “Belgica” paper toilet roll print.
