A proven method in France, now deployed from Florida
Some entrepreneurs launch products. Others build brands. Jérémy Zimmermann assembles ecosystems. In ten years, the co-founder and President of Hexagone Automotive has built, brick by brick, a complete system serving independent car dealers: a national network of more than 500 professionals, the SaaS software that supports them day-to-day, partnerships with established players in the industry – and, from Florida, a bridgehead from which to pursue this strategy in the American market. Nothing stands alone: every building block he creates has been designed to generate synergies with the others. It’s what he calls, simply, creating long-term value.
Interview conducted by Romain Angeletti – Editor in Chief at French District.
More Than 500 Professionals United Within a Single Network
The story begins in 2016, when Jérémy Zimmermann co-founded Vroomiz. The starting observation: thousands of independent professionals were operating alone against large groups with far greater access to tools, data, and negotiating power.
The idea was to give them the collective strength of a national brand, shared tools, negotiated partnerships, and common standards – all while preserving their independence. Under Jérémy Zimmermann’s presidency, Vroomiz has grown steadily and today brings together more than 500 automotive professionals across France. This growth has been covered by several specialized trade media, including Auto Infos and Le Journal de l’Automobile.
Beyond the number of members, the figures illustrate the economic scale this ecosystem has reached. As of the end of August 2025, consolidated data from the group’s tools showed more than €390 million in revenue generated by the ecosystem’s professionals over the previous twelve months, more than 40,000 used vehicles sold, and more than 557,000 registered customers.
“An independent dealer on his own is fragile. Five hundred dealers sharing tools, data, and a brand – that changes the balance of an entire market. What interested me from day one was never just the transaction. It’s the infrastructure.”
On the ground, some longtime partners have also spoken about this evolution.
“Their service is now well recognized, but that wasn’t the case when they first came to us,” David Sanguillaux, manager of the MDN Car’auto dealership in the Vienne region – a partner of the label from the very beginning – told Décision Atelier.
From Network to Technology: The Software Behind the Dealers
Jérémy Zimmermann quickly understood that a network is only as strong as the tools it relies on. In 2019, he launched VObiz, a DMS (Dealer Management System) designed specifically for automotive sales professionals. This first generation was later followed by OptimCar, a next-generation, more scalable DMS developed with his technology subsidiary, NeoNova.
The development of OptimCar alone represents an investment of more than €400,000, covering in particular the technological overhaul of the tool so it could keep pace with professionals’ growing needs. The scale of the operation is significant: the migration from VObiz to OptimCar involved approximately 510 professional accounts, notably from the Vroomiz and BHCAR networks.
For Jérémy Zimmermann, this evolution illustrates the logic the group has followed since its beginnings: identify the problems professionals face every day, develop the tools to solve them, then put those tools to the test at scale.
An Ecosystem That Carries Weight in the Market
This infrastructure has gradually given the network a significant presence on France’s major automotive platforms. On Leboncoin, France’s leading classifieds platform, the network led by Jérémy Zimmermann continuously lists more than 14,000 vehicles, making it one of the platform’s largest professional automotive advertisers.
Jérémy Zimmermann has also built long-term institutional partnerships. Under his presidency, the Hexagone Automotive group notably developed a strategic partnership with the Fédération Nationale de l’Automobile (FNA), signed in 2023 at the Equip Auto trade show and expanded in 2025 to the new Federauto label, as well as a multi-year agreement, since renewed, with the BHCAR network.
“What we like about Vroomiz is the entrepreneurial spirit of this young team that wants to move forward. They are creating a structure that France has been missing,” Robert Bassols, president of the FNA, told Le Journal de l’Automobile as early as 2023.
“I don’t believe in the myth of the lone genius. My role is to set the course, structure the group, and make sure that ten years from now, what we’ve built is still creating value. That’s the job of a president: the long term.”
The American Chapter – and Artificial Intelligence
In September 2025, Jérémy Zimmermann moved to Florida to develop his company JM Family Vision LLC, the entity through which he now conducts his activities in the American market. This move does not represent a break from his French career. Rather, it is its continuation: applying to a new market the experience gained over nearly ten years working with automotive professionals.
The American market, however, is on an entirely different scale. The United States is home to tens of thousands of car dealerships and dealers, including a large population of independent professionals. It is a different environment from the French market, but one in which Jérémy Zimmermann finds a challenge he has known for nearly a decade: enabling independent professionals to rely on technology to structure and grow their business.
Drawing on this experience gained in France, he is now developing his activities from Florida, around several projects in software and artificial intelligence applied to the automotive industry.
CarBox AI: From the French Ecosystem to the American Market
The first involves CarBox AI, a French artificial intelligence technology dedicated to the visual enhancement of vehicles. The story begins in France: in 2025, Jérémy Zimmermann chose CarBox AI for the visual presentation of vehicles across his Hexagone Automotive ecosystem, with a rollout to Vroomiz agencies and users of his software solutions. This deployment was notably covered by Le Journal de l’Automobile and MotorsActu.
“We want to make CarBox AI the standard for visual presentation in the automotive sector. This partnership is proof of that,” said Yannis Bonneville, founder of CarBox AI, at the time.
Following this initial French collaboration, an exclusive distribution agreement signed in Florida between CarBox AI and JM Family Vision now allows Jérémy Zimmermann to commercialize this technology in the American market.
A first concrete bridge between the ecosystem built in France and his new activities in the United States.
OptimCar: Preparing for the American Market
The second project involves OptimCar. Rather than directly transposing a software product initially developed for French professionals to the United States, Jérémy Zimmermann has chosen a step-by-step approach.
An in-depth analysis of the American automotive management software market has already been conducted to study the existing players, the specific needs of American independent dealers and dealerships, and the adaptations such a market would require.
“You don’t port a DMS from one market to another with a snap of the fingers. The study is done, the roadmap exists. We’re moving forward in the right order.”
This preparatory phase follows the same method applied in France: first understand the realities on the ground before determining the next steps.
CarCall: Continuing to Innovate from Florida
The third project is CarCall, an AI-powered virtual agent developed by JM Family Vision from Florida to answer calls and inquiries directed at car dealerships. The project is a continuation of the work Jérémy Zimmermann has carried out for ten years with independent professionals: developing technologies tailored to their operational challenges.
“The idea is not France on one side and America on the other. It’s about bridges: using ten years of field experience in France to build tomorrow’s tools from the United States.”
Ten Years of Building, and a New American Chapter
Ten years after the beginnings of Vroomiz, Jérémy Zimmermann’s journey thus follows a single guiding thread.
A network of more than 500 professionals, hundreds of companies using the technologies developed by his group, partnerships with several established players in the French automotive industry – and now, an American base from which he continues this strategy. The change of continent therefore does not mark a break, but the continuity of an entrepreneurial journey that began in France in 2016.
“What drives me is creating long-term value. Not visibility, not buzz: infrastructure. In ten years, we’ve built a complete ecosystem: the network, the software, the partnerships. Today, I want to use that experience to build what comes next from the United States.”
For Jérémy Zimmermann, the next chapter is now being written between France and Florida, with the same conviction he had at the start: giving independent professionals the tools they need to compete with much larger organizations.
